WATCH: Michigan Mom Lands on John Legend’s ‘The Voice’ Team
Zania Alake is representing Michigan on “The Voice” this season.
The 34-year-old single mother just rocked her Blind Audition on “The Voice” and notched a spot on Team John Legend.
She performed “Sweet Love” by Anita Baker for the audition.
Legend was a big fan of Alake’s performance- and of Detroit.
“Detroit is such a rich musical tradition and it’s given the world so much great music,” Legend said on the show. “We’re always lucky when we get Detroit singers here on “The Voice.”
Alake was also asked to be on Clarkson’s team, but she picked Legend over Clarkson. Watch her performance below.
