DJ Cassidy’s “Pass the Mic” Gets BET Deal!
Congratulations are in order for DJ Cassidy!
He just signed a deal with BET to take his viral “Pass the Mic” series to prime time! The deal calls for him to air six specials.

For those who aren’t familiar with the series, Cassidy connects virtually and intimately with legendary R&B and Hip-Hop icons, as they sing along seamlessly to their classic records, each “passing the mic” to the next. All from the turntables in his living room! The result is an emotionally uplifting, technologically innovative musical experience.
You may have seen the first one over the weekend after the NAACP Image Awards. It included Adina Howard, Soul 4 Real, Montell Jordan, Donell Jones, Next, DaBrat, Brownstone, Wyclef Jean, Dru Hill, Sisqo, SWV, and 112!

“When I created ‘Pass The Mic’ last spring in my living room, I simply wanted to connect people through music and never imagined I would soon be producing it for television on BET,” said DJ Cassidy.
Cassidy also did a hip-hop legends version that included LL Cool J, Run-DMC, and Salt-N-Pepa. No word when or if that one will air.
