A Detroit woman was more than a little surprised when she discovered that the $1,000 Michigan Lottery prize she thought she score was actually worth a whopping $500,000.

The 86-year-old woman was pretty happy with what she thought was the winning $1,000 ticket and took the Triple Bonus Cashword instant ticket to a retailer. There, she discovered it was actually worth $500,000, according to the Michigan Lottery.

“I like to play a variety of instant tickets,” she said, according to the Michigan Lottery. “I saw the Triple Bonus Cashword ticket while I was at the store and decided to give it a try.

“I thought I’d won $1,000, so I took it to a retailer to confirm. When they told me it was a $500,000 winner, I almost fainted. I couldn’t believe it!”

She purchased her winning ticket at the One Stop Liquor Store at 8536 Linwood St. in Detroit.

“This might be a $500,000 prize, but to me, it feels like $1 million after the financial struggles I’ve faced,” she added.
