New Detroit Music Hall Amphitheater to Kick Off Summer Season with Marvin Gaye Show
Live music is coming back, and Detroit has a new outdoor performance venue to mark the occasion.
Music Hall Amphitheater will open Friday (May 21) and bring a new season of concerts, theater, dance, comedy and more.
The new venue houses 1,000 attendees in socially distanced pods, with six people in each pod. It’s located adjacent to Music Hall on Madison Avenue.
The Music Hall Amphitheater’s first show will be an invitation-only event featuring the music of Marvin Gaye, in honor of the 50th anniversary of What’s Going On. The program will feature a house band headed up by Kern Brantley, as well as a variety of Detroit singers and performers.
The full 2021 schedule for the Music Hall Amphitheater is expected to be announced soon.
