Alyssa Dewitt is a hero.

Dewitt, who is five months pregnant, saved three children from drowning near the First Street Beach Pier earlier this week, according to UpNorthLive.

Dewitt tells the publication that she saw the kids waving their arms from the water after being pulled in by strong currents. She called 911 but didn't think they could arrive in time.

So, she reached over the pier to grab the children, which was not easy.

"This part will stick with me forever. This girl looked at me and said, ‘I’m going to die.’ It makes me cry every time I think about it,” Dewitt told UpNorthLive. “I said ‘I promise you. I am not going to let you die out here. I will get you out of this water.’”

She saved all three children. The police arrived soon after.

Dewitt was taken to the hospital to make sure all was well, and both she and the baby are fine.
