Repairs on Grosse Ile Parkway Bridge Start This Week
Repair work on the Grosse Ile Parkway Bridge, which has been closed since May 2020, starts this week.
According to Wayne County, the bridge is on target to reopen sometime this fall.
“Moving forward with the pier repairs puts us one step closer to reopening the bridge and providing residents with a long-awaited sense of normalcy,” Beverly Watts, Wayne County’s director of public services, said in a statement.
The Wayne County bridge accounts for 75% of the vehicles driving onto Grosse Ile, the other option being the Grosse Ile Toll Bridge.
For the Grosse Ile Toll Bridge, it runs $5 for a round-trip if you pay cash or $7 if you pay credit.
