Detroit Police Department Holding 12 Weeks of Hiring Events
The Detroit police have kicked off a series of new hiring events to help find new members for the force.
The event started today (June 18) and runs for a total of 12 weeks.
According to DetroitMI.gov, entry-level positions start at more than $20 an hour while in the paid Detroit Police Academy. The full benefits package includes medical, dental and optical insurance plans, three paid holidays per year, four floating holidays, 20 vacation days per year and a retirement plan.
“100 units and hundreds of options,” are available, according to the department.
Hiring events will take place for the next 11 weekends at select precincts across the city.
