Happy Canada Day to our Canadian friends across the border!

In honor of today’s holiday, here are some fun facts about Canada. Apparently Canada is all about doughnuts and beautiful lakes, which sounds like heaven to me!

      • Canada is the No. 1 doughnut consumer in the world, according to ThePlanetd.com. Immediately, I thought of the fact Tim Horton’s is based in Canada, but not sure if that’s a factor!

      • Canada is the largest country in the Western hemisphere and the second largest country in the world, according to Kids-World-Travel-Guide.com. The largest country in the world is Russia.

      • There’s lots of space in Canada, as roughly 90% of the country is uninhabited, according to TheCultureTrip.com.

      • Santa Claus is apparently Canadian. Each year, children send letters to Santa Claus, and those go to a Canadian address, which is The North Pole’s postal address at H0H 0H0, according to Adventures.com. In 2008, Santa was deemed a Canadian citizen by the Immigration Minister.

      • When it comes to lakes, Canada is king. Canada has millions of lakes and more lakes than the rest of the world combined, according to LiveLearn.ca. And we thought Michigan had a lot!
