Singer Keyshia Cole's mom, Frankie Lons, has died from an apparent overdose on her 61st birthday.

The R&B singer's brother, Sam, told TMZ, "Frankie overdosed at her Oakland home Sunday ... the same day she was celebrating her born day, when she apparently took drugs while partying -- relapsing on what we're told was a long, hard-fought journey to sobriety."

Lons' journey was well-documented on the reality show Keyshia Cole My New Life where she made plenty of cameos.

Through Lon's recovery, the R&B singer posted the ups and downs to show her followers about the struggles of relapsing, she captioned a video with her late mom and family members, "Every time my mom relapse, it breaks my heart more than it’s already been broken. I’m hoping, if any of u are dealing with a family member who’s battling with drug addiction, that you, yourself are learning how to cope with the struggle of it all."

The R&B singer has been vocal about praising her mother's wins as well, a most recent one staying 60 days sober, something she was proud to share with her IG fans and followers.
