Snoh Aalegra Addresses Questions On Her Ethnicity
R&B singer Snoh Aalegra, 33, has addressed questions on her ethnicity as fans continuously question her roots.
In a series of tweets, Aalegra addressed the “bi-weekly debate” Twitter seems to have about her ethnicity and revealed some facts for the curious about her bloodline.
The “I Want You Around” singer tweeted out to her followers, “FOR THE LAST TIME: I am 100% IRANIAN, I am a part of the population from south of Iran where people have darker complexion. I was born and raised in Sweden as a second generation immigrant. I have zero Swedish blood but I do consider myself Swedish since that is the country I grew up in.”
I’m just seeing the usual bi-weekly debate on twitter about my ethnicity. My heritage and bloodline is not a philosophical topic. I have hard facts for you all.

The 33-year-old ended her mini family history lesson with a simple tweet, “I love you all, God bless.”

However, this thread still sparked some questions as a fan had a screenshot locked and loaded for the songstress of a previous tweet stating that, “We also have black people in Iran too” and that her father sported an afro in an old picture.

Another user tweeted to try to aid in the confusion, “they’re confused because her tweet reads as if Snoh is implying her dad is of afro-iranian descent himself…”

The singer gained popularity in 2019 with her hit songs “I Want You Around” and “Whoa” from her album Ugh, Those Feels Again. Aalegra won the Soul Train Music Award for “Best New Artist” in 2020 and has just released a new album last week titled Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies that is already getting rave reviews.
