Brian Laundrie’s Belongings are Discovered in Florida Park – Human Remains Also Found
We may be nearing the end of the search for Brian Laundrie.
The Sarasota County Medical Examiner, an FBI evidence response team and a cadaver dog have been called out to Florida park after searchers discovered “several items” they say belong to fugitive Brian Laundrie.
The “items of interest” were found at the Carlton Reserve Wednesday morning, according Steven Bertolino, the lawyer for victim Gabby Petito’s family. As of 4:30 p.m. EST, the FBI’s evidence response team was still on the scene, sorting through the unidentified items, the bureau reports. A second, “more thorough” search of the area is also currently underway, FBI officials say.
In addition to the items discovered, there were also partial human remains found near the belongings, but the FBI is unable to confirm that the human remains belong to Brian at this time.
Petito disappeared while taking a cross-country trip with boyfriend Brian Laundrie, who’s been on the run since his fiancee’s body was discovered in Wyoming on September 19th.
