Michigan Will be the Best Place to Live in the World by 2050, Expert Says

Michiganders have great pride about living in this state. I love it here, aside from the super cold winters. Now, it appears the entire world is going to take notice, as a new book claims that Michigan will be the best place to live on the entire planet by 2050.

How could that be possible? According to author Parag Khanna's new book, "Move: The Forces Uprooting Us," Michigan will be a top destination because of factors surrounding climate change, economies and governments.

"As we scanned the world for geographies that offer abundant freshwater, progressive governance, and could attract talent to innovative industries, we decided on … Michigan," Khanna stated (via The Globe and Mail).

He continued, "More broadly, we pointed to the emergence of a 'New North,' a collection of geographies such as the Great Lakes region and Scandinavia that are making significant investments in renewable energy, food production and economic diversification." He also discusses how Canada is going to be a prime spot by 2050, due to its "climate resilience" and "physical and economic mobility."
