BROOKLYN, NY - JUNE 19: A statue of George Floyd is unveiled at Flatbush Junction on June 19, 2021, in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. Mr. Floyds murder, at the hands of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, last year fueled a global movement for racial justice. The unveiling of the statue happened just days after Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday.

I’m going to go ahead and predict that this will be a bestseller.

Two Washington Post reporters are working on a biography about George Floyd.

It will explore his family history in the tobacco fields of North Carolina to his murder. The book will be titled, His Name is George Floyd: One Man’s Life and the Struggle for Racial Justice. It is set to drop May 2022.

The autobiography will expand on the Washington Post’s six-part series, George Floyd’s America. The series won the Polk award for justice reporting.

Well, I know what I’m going to pick up when I’m looking for a good nonfiction read.
