Uber To Allow Drivers and Riders To Record Audio

Uber is testing out a new feature that will allow both the drivers and passengers to record audio for the duration of their trip.

The audio will be saved and encrypted to the user's phone once the ride is over.

Uber will only have access to the audio if the user submits it in the event of a dispute.

The company will be testing this feature in three cities at the beginning of 2022 along with a planned "seat belt reminder" feature to follow later in the year.

I think this is a smart move. It essentially covers both sides of any potential situation. Definitely a smart move by Uber.
