President Biden Ramps Up Efforts to Combat ‘Omicron’ Variant
“We should all be concerned about Omicron, but not panicked.”
Those were the words spoken by President Joe Biden who gave a speech looking to reassure a nation grappling with an increase in cases of Covid-19, the Delta and now Omicron variants, as well as hospitals overwhelmed with those suffering from the illness.
President Biden stated that his administration will expand its efforts to combat the virus by increasing the number of test sites and readying medical military personnel to respond where needed.
The president also announced that beginning January of 2022, a new website will launch that will allow the public to request free Covid-19 rapid testing kits – an investment of some $500 million by the Biden administration.
I see this situation as one that would be extremely difficult to navigate no matter who’s in the Oval Office. I hope we can get a handle on this virus because I don’t think any of us want to repeat the mess that was 2020!
