Popular Michigan Bar Reopening Just in Time for Baseball Season
Going to the bar is a popular activity any season, but when baseball season rolls around, it seems even more popular. With so many baseball games, there are many opportunities to hit the bar before or after the game and truly enjoy the full experience.
Now, a popular Michigan bar is reopening just in time for baseball season. The establishment has been closed since January.
The Anchor Bar in Downtown Detroit is reopening on April 5 for lunch and dinner. This is a top spot for so many of my friends when they go to Tigers games. When they open, they’ll have a new menu, including the Fried Chicken Sandwich (crispy breaded chicken topped with fresh lettuce and tomato, herb aioli and served with golden French fries) and Baked Mac and Cheese. Cavatappi pasta, white cheddar and fontina cheeses make the Baked Mac and Cheese option especially encircling, and it’s topped with Parmesan breadcrumbs and oven-baked. But, don’t worry, because the bar’s classic items will be back, as well.
“The Anchor Bar has been a fixture of downtown Detroit’s dining scene for more than six decades, and we look forward to reopening and welcoming our guests again,” Stephanie Prechel, general manager for The Iconic Collection, the hospitality group that owns and operates the bar, said in a statement. “The Anchor Bar is the perfect spot for people to gather and experience engaging, inspiring and real connections, great food and beverage options and personal service.”
The Anchor Bar will host a Tigers Opening Day Non-Tailgate on April 8 beginning at 11 a.m., offering drink specials. For those who aren’t going to the game, they’ll have TVs to watch the action. The bar will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. They’re hiring for salary and hourly management positions, line cooks, servers, and bartenders. For more information, go here.
