This Michigan Garden is the Most Beautiful in the State
Spring is here, even if it doesn’t always feel like it, and it’s time to start thinking about flowers and all things gardens. Here in Michigan, we have a range of fantastic gardens to visit. But, when it comes to major Michigan gardens, which is the best?
The crew at House Fresh has set out to determine the most beautiful garden in Michigan, and to make the pick, they solicited feedback from tourists. “The public garden was late to the U.S. In Europe, the Italian Renaissance had ushered in a culture of open grounds of variously scientific or aesthetic appeal,” they state in the study. “But it took until the 19th century for the U.S. to notice the benefits that the grand garden could have on the soul of both the individual and the nation.”
According to the study, the absolute best garden in the entire U.S. is the famed Glam Las Vegas Conservatory in Nevada, which is a trek. But, since that’s a trek, we might as well stick close to home. So, what’s the best in Michigan, according to House Fresh?
According to the study, the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids are the No. 1 most beautiful garden in the entire state. That doesn’t surprise me, because although I’ve never been there, I hear it’s incredibly gorgeous. They also have a bunch of great live music there during the spring and summer months. As a Michigan State University graduate, I’ve always enjoyed the many gardens the campus has to offer. After all, being a popular agricultural school, it makes sense that the university would have a wealth of gardens. I’m sure the University of Michigan has some great gardens, too.
