SZA Deletes TikTok For Mental Health Awareness Month
For Mental Health Awareness Month, SZA is taking a break from social media, TikTok to be exact.
“I encourage everyone to delete anything anyone and everything that doesn’t serve you. Bless,” she wrote in an Instagram Stories post per Complex. That message followed an earlier one posted on her Instagram story that read, “Get off the internet. The internet is demonic.”
Despite taking a break from TikTok, the CTRL creator has been very active on Twitter as of late claiming trolls have been “suck[ing] the joy and life out of everything.”
“I swear to God if I didn’t accidentally fall in love w music .. I would NEVER EVER COME OUTSIDE,” she tweeted. “Y’all suck the joy and life out of EVERYTHING. Thank God for purpose cause Outside of art it’s f— y’all. Now run w that.”
In her Twitter rant, she also cleared up the lyrics to her 2021 song “I Hate U.”
“When I said I BE SO SICK OF U N—– YALL CONTRADICTING. I was talking to everyone. Not men. For the record. I hate u was a universal emotion. Take care,” she wrote.
SZA, who recently teased that it will be an “SZA Summer” when she drops her newest project also tweeted that she is releasing new music to feel free.
“And please know when I drop anything it’s not for y’all. It’s to free my motherf—ing self.”
