Apple To Discontinue The iPod
After more than 20 years, Apple has announced that it will discontinue its iPod device.
The iPod Touch – the latest, and final version of the iPod – will remain on sale through the Apple website “while supplies last”.
October 2001 was the initial launch of the first iPod, and it was a game changer from the jump.
With the introduction of the iPhone in 2007, the iPod became more of a “complete the collection” piece, as the iPhone has always served as both a phone, web browser and an iPod.
This is the end of an era for me. I remember saving up three paychecks to buy my first iPod back in 2006. One of the funnest purchases I ever made – until I got an iPhone, of course!
