The Monkeypox virus is making its way throughout the United States with seven cases reported, and one confirmed.
The confirmed case was in Massachusetts, with the six other reported cases in Washington state, Utah, Florida and New York.
Monkeypox vaccines are planned to be released from a government stockpile, however the CDC says there’s no need for widespread vaccination of the public.
Monkeypox is a cousin virus to smallpox and is less transmissible, but can be spread through close contact.
