Rapper A$AP Rocky was charged Monday (Aug. 15) with assault and accused of firing a handgun toward a former friend in November prosecutors said per NBC News.
A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, has been charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Rocky’s old friend is reportedly a former A$AP Mob member named A$AP Relli (born Terell Ephron), who told police he believed one of the bullets grazed his left hand after a “heated discussion” in Hollywood on Nov. 6.
Mayers was arrested in April at Los Angeles International Airport in connection with the shooting. He was later released on a 550k bond.
Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday (Aug. 17), the DA’s office said.
