Young Thug Sued For $150K Over Atlanta Concert Amid RICO Case

Young Thug is being sued for $150K for not being able to perform at an Atlanta concert due his incarceration the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The ATL-bred rapper (born Jeffrey Williams) was set to perform a “Young Thug and Friends” show at the State Farm Arena on June 18 but since he was incarcerated due to his ongoing RICO case he was unable to fulfill his contractual obligations. According to court documents, Thug was to receive $300,000 for a 45-minute set back in January. He was paid half up front where he would later be paid in full after the event. A-1 Concert Entertainment, the concert provider for “Young Thug and Friends,” has claimed they haven’t received the $150,000 advance back.

“Due to his arrest and the nature of the felony criminal charges against Williams, it was immediately apparent in May 2022 that he would not be able to perform as required in the agreement,” the filing said. “To date, A-1 Concert has not received any reimbursement of the $150,000 owed to it.”

A representative for YSL Touring says a refund will be issued.

Young Thug was indicted back in May on charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Gunna who is signed to Thug’s YSL label was also arrested. Thug also faces additional felony charges and new gang, drug, and gun charges that he has been indicted with earlier this month. Both rappers were denied bond twice and will face a jury in January of 2023.
