He followed up with a since-deleted post (per XXL) writing, “09-17-22 official day of really owning my content & deciding where and how i do it moving forward!!!” he wrote in the caption. “GLG GreenLightGang bulls eye we don’t miss.”
Reps for Jackson confirmed to Deadline that he did not renew his agreement with the cable network. The publication reports that “He is believed to be entertaining multiple offers from streamers and studios for his G-Unit Film & Television, whose current slate includes 25 series in production and projects in development.”
Back in April, 50 announced that he only had only a few months left in his deal with the Lionsgate-owned platform. “I’m trying to buy my universe back from STARZ so it goes where ever I go,” he wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post per Uproxx. “Only 5 months left in my deal, and I’m not on the air for 6 months so We Out!”
50 is known to take his frustrations out in Instagram posts and has done so several times with Starz over their eight-year contract. That same month, an episode of Power Book IV: Force prematurely ended up on the streaming services’ site. “See they leaked the episode again these people are incompetent,” he wrote on Instagram under his post of fans sharing spoilers on the newest episode of Power Book IV: Force. “I went to Harvard so the f— what!”
Back in March, 50 took to Instagram posting several photos of memes and videos of a man packing his bags signifying the next move the rapper is trying to make.
“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out,” 50 wrote last month. “They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have it sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb s— I deal with over here. you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.”
