WalletHub released their list of the Happiest Cities to Live in, in America, and some bad news, and Detroit has been ranked the 'Least Happy City to live in, in America' in the U.S. This comes after Michigan ranked in the bottom third of their 'Happiest States in America' list from 2022. The methodology behind the list was based on three factors; emotional and physical well-being, income and employment and community and environment (all of which Detroit ranked at the bottom).

There were 30 relevant metrics that made up the scores in each of those categories and ranked. Those categories were; physical and emotional well-being (50 points), income and employment (25 points) finally, community and environment (25). They used the 150 most populated cites in America, but also two cities from each state. Then based on those scores. Detroit ranked #182, which came in dead last on their 'Happiest Cities to Live in, in America' list. Grand Rapids is the other Michigan city that made the list and it came in at #70.
