Michigan Restaurant to Be Featured on the Food Network

Michigan has so many tasty locally-owned restaurants, so it should come as no surprise that some of our favorite spots get featured on the Food Network. In fact, anyone I know who has visited the state comments on our delicious Michigan restaurants and diners.

Now, a local BBQ favorite is getting the spotlight on the popular Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." It's coming at a much-needed time, too.

That restaurant is the Capital City BBQ, which is located in Lansing. The restaurant's owner Linh Lee tells WLNS.com that the opportunity is nothing short of a "saving grace." Capital City BBQ is known for its barbecue and traditional Vietnamese options. It's been in business for around eight years. This isn't the first time the spot has been featured on the show, too, as Capital City BBQ was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" in 2017.

"I am so grateful to be a part of the Triple D Nation family; you know everybody wants to have one piece of it," Lee told WLNS of the opportunity. She added that it was a thrill to spend time with celebrity chef and television host Guy Fieri. "I cook all day long. From 8:30 in the morning they were here; 7 and 8:30 at the start of the show until 6 o’clock in the afternoon. That is a lot of cooking," Lee said. Like many locally-owned restaurants, the pandemic was hard on Capital City BBQ. The fact the spot got through it is certainly cause for celebration. That's what makes the second showing on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" so much sweeter. No word yet on when their episode will air on the Food Network, but we'll keep you posted.

"Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There's just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What's extra cool is that Fieri has come to Michigan multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.
