Detroit Author Scores Incredible Amazon Deal With New Book “Boys Come First”
Detroit author Aaron Foley’s debut novel “Boys Come First” has had the rights purchased from Amazon. According to Deadline.com, Amazon will plan to develop a television series out of the novel.
Field Trip Productions will produce the show. Chuck Hayward, of Ted Lasso fame, is going to write the pilot and executive produce the show.
The book, “Boys Come First”, is a story of three gay millennial Black men looking for love, friendship, and professional success in the Motor City (per Amazon).
Aaron Foley is no amateur in the writing scene and has many accomplishments. He is a 2 time Emmy Award nominee. Aaron also is a co-executive on the hit Apple Tv series Ted Lasso. And he worked on Disney’s WandaVision and Hulu’s Life & Bath.
And for writing, Aaron Foley has written the script for the remake of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. Which also beings shooting in the spring.
Foley is also a journalist and author writing on Detroit. He has appeared in This American Life, The Atlantic, and PBS NewsHour. In addition, he has been named Detroit’s first appointed “chief storyteller” and penned the novel How to Live in Detroit Without Being a Jackass.
