Doja Cat Reacts To Losing Verified Status On Twitter
Doja Cat is no longer verified on Twitter. However, the “Need To Know” artist is unbothered by the drop-down in status as she notes that blue checks are for “desperate people.” The rapper/singer took to Twitter Tuesday (April 11) to talk about the situation. In a quote-tweet, she responded to a fan who noticed that Doja no longer has a blue check next to her name. “no blue tick? its over,” they wrote.
Doja fired back, “only fans have blue ticks.”
Another fan questioned the singer asking, “You have to pay for twitter blue now ? What has elon done to you doja?”
“Having a blue tick now means there’s a higher chance that you’re a complete loser and that you’re desperate for validation from famous people,” Doja wrote back.
The Planet Her creator’s comment is in reference to Twitter’s new verified policy. To maintain a blue check on Twitter you must subscribe to Twitter Blue. Twitter Blue is $8/month. Originally Elon Musk who became Twitter’s CEO in 2022, wanted $20/month for Twitter Blue but lowered the cost due following the backlash.

On the music side, Doja continues to tease what fans are expected to hear from her fourth studio album.
She announced last week that her forthcoming project will focus primarily on rap. Doja tweeted, “no more pop.” She followed it up with another tweet writing, “i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are.”
She continued: “I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.” A fan wrote back that they hope fans’ comments are not what pressured her to go “full rap.” She replied writing, “pop isnt exciting to me anymore. I dont wanna make it.”
Doja’s forthcoming album titled Hellmouth will follow her 2021 Grammy-winning LP Planet Her.
