J. Cole’s Manager Slams Nearly $1M ‘All My Life’ Payout Rumor
J. Cole’s manager is setting the record straight about a rumor that the Dreamville boss was paid nearly $1 million for his feature on Lil Durk’s “All My Life.” The rumor began when @raphousetv alleged that the Almost Healed artist paid Cole $978,000 for his verse. Since the KOD creator rapped and spit 489 words, that would come out to $2,000 a word.
His manager, Ibrahim Hamad, saw the post and immediately shut down the rumors by quote-tweeting the blog’s tweet with the cap emoji. Hamad didn’t reveal how much he made but he quickly let fans know that the blog was spreading inaccurate information.
On Almost Healed, which dropped last month, the Chicago-bred rapper had guest appearances by Alicia Keys, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Rob49, and Morgan Wallen. He also shared a posthumous feature from Juice WRLD.
As for J. Cole, he lent his talents also to Summer Walker last month on her EP Clear 2: Soft Life. Cole is featured on the opening track titled “To Summer, from Cole (audio hug).” Walker’s EP also featured Childish Gambino and production by Solange Knowles, Steve Lacy, and John Kirby. The latter three have production and writing credits on the last track of the project titled “Agayu’s Revelation.”
Cole’s last full-length project was KOD which was released in 2021. The project only had one feature which was kiLL edward on “The Cut Off” and “FRIENDS.” However, on his Summer Walker feature, the North Carolina rapper teased that he is working on a new project.
“I’m thinkin’ about ya, I heard you just had you another lil baby/ Congratulations, I hope you got through it with no complications/ I find it amazing, the way that you juggle your kids, the biz, the fame, the bitches that’s hatin’/ They sit around waiting for you to fall off like the album I’m making,” he raps on “To Summer From Cole.”
