Kanye West Documentary ‘DONDA’ Leaks Online
On Wednesday (June 7), Kanye’s DONDA documentary about the making of his 2021 album leaked online. The film goes through all of his antics before releasing the Grammy-winning project. The preview shows Ye’s creative process in turning Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium into a recording studio for his listening party.
The documentary also shows personal footage of Ye, where the rapper visits his childhood home in Chicago. He infamously made a updated look at Soldier Field #DONDA pic.twitter.com/NgOeYRCgH5
Some other never-before-seen footage shows the rapper linking up with Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Fivio Foreign, Rick Rubin, and Mike Dean, among others. He later has a scene where he threatens to remove everyone’s verse if they don’t attend his listening party, including his Watch The Throne partner Jay-Z.
“Everybody that’s not here, I’m taking their verses off,” he says. “I’m taking Jay-Z verse, I’m taking — if there’s anybody not here on the porch with me, they’re not on this version.”

While Ye played Jay-Z’s version during the first two listening parties, he ended up taking off his verse and replacing it with a verse from DaBaby. Ultimately, both versions appear on the final cut of DONDA as “Jail” and “Jail pt. 2.” However, that was not the case for everyone originally billed for an appearance on DONDA. Soulja Boy and Chris Brown were both very vocal about Ye wasting their time and not using their verses on the album.
“Kanye a whole h–,” Brown said at the time, and in another post, he added, “Nah he tweakin.”
Soulja also commented on his removal from the album.
“If he didn’t like the verse he should of said that don’t text me acting like u f— wit it then secretly take it off. What kind of s— is that I was working on my album too I don’t got time for this s—,” the “Crank That” rapper If he didn’t like the verse he should of said that don’t text me acting like u fuck wit it then secretly take it off. What kind of shit is that I was working on my album too I don’t got time for this shit
In addition to Brown and Soulja’s verse removal, he also replaced Kid Cudi with the Sunday Service Choir.
There’s no word on when or if the DONDA documentary will be released.
