Metro Detroit Weekend Events
The other day I was telling about some Juneteenth events downtown. Here’s another one in Metro Detroit to add to the list this weekend as well. They’re having a Juneteenth celebration in Madison Heights at the Madison Heights Civic Center on Saturday from noon until 6:00 PM. There will be an opening ceremony, live entertainment, local vendors and food trucks and all this stuff. So, if you have the opportunity, go check that out. There are a couple of other events going on this weekend as well. Yoga in the Park happens this Saturday and Sunday. It’s free outdoor yoga classes and they’ll be taking place at Palmer, Chandler, and Rouge Parks in Detroit. You also have Riverview Summerfest, which starts tomorrow through Sunday. Carnival, live music, beer tent, helicopter rides and more. And of course, I’m going to be out at Kensington Metro Park for the Bounces Beach Break! That’s going to be happening from noon until 4:00 PM on Saturday and I’ll be broadcasting live from Martindale Beach. So come and hang out with us! We’re going to have a ton of fun. I may make you hula hoop or something like that. We’re gonna do some fun stuff out there.Bio Boi RV Renovation Show

Do you remember the show Pimp My Ride? Well, Big Boi is back with a new show and I need to get in on this! Apparently, him and his partner own this company called Celebrity Trailers, and they specialize in extravagant and luxurious upgrades to large vehicles. Like trailers, campers, sprinters, school buses, RVs. The show is called Big RV Remix and it premieres on Hulu on July 21st. I need to figure out how I can get on this show. I’ve got an RV just sitting there that could use some upgrades! So, if anyone knows Big Boi, text me at 248-544-1051 with the contact so I can see how we can make this happen!Eric B & Rakim Make History
Eric B and Rakim reunited last night in New Jersey to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. They performed at the legendary Stone Pony club in Asbury Park. It was an iconic and history making performance because, as Eric B explained, they were the first hip hop group to play at the Stone Pony, which has been home to countless iconic acts, especially as we celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop. It was unprecedented and definitely a dream come true.Speaking of Rakim, he’s actually going to be on our Hip Hop 50 show here in Detroit. Along with Dougie Fresh, KRS One, Slick Rick, EPMD and Big Daddy Kane. That show is going to happen July 15th at the Fox Theater. Tickets available now at Ticketmaster.com.
