Drake Hit With $230K Fine For Detroit Concert: ‘I Don’t Give A F—‘
Drake claimed he was hit with a hefty fine after he went over the curfew during his Detroit concert on Saturday (July 8). In a video uploaded to social media, the rapper told the crowd that if he finished the song, he would be hit with a sizeable fee.
“It’s $10,000 a minute to stay in this building past curfew,” he said to the audience. “But I don’t give a f—. We’re doing this whole song. Let’s go.”
The audience rejoiced, in response to Drake’s claim. Check out the video here.
The show reportedly ran 23 minutes past the allotted time, amounting to a $230,000 penalty.

During the show, he also announced that Nicki Minaj will be featured on his upcoming album For All The Dogs. “I’m gonna give away one thing for you tonight, because I got a lot of love for Detroit,” he began. “So I’m gonna have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj did our first song together in, like, a really long time. I got a lot of love for her. Okay. Let me just assess the t—— tonight, and then, we’ll get to the most important part.”
The concert is a part of the It’s All A Blur Tour which he and 21 Savage began last week. The tour is set to hit several large cities in North America, including New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, and more. Drake will also be heading to his home of Toronto, Canada, before his final tour stop in Columbus, Ohio on October 9. The tour accompanies their No. 1 album, Her Loss, which was released in November.
Drake announced that he would be releasing another album when he dropped his poetry book Titles Ruined Everything. Drake co-wrote the collection of poems with Kenza Samir. He and Drake have been working together for years on several of the Toronto rapper’s projects, such as Views and If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.
A release date for the new album has not been announced.
