Michigan Edibles Pulled From Shelves For Too Much THC
In the world of cannabis-infused edibles, where creativity knows no bounds, it is important to tread carefully when in pursuit of the perfect high. There’s a limit to how much weed you should pack into these goodies. Believe it or not, having too much in an edible is possible. Finding that sweet spot where the potency is perfect without blowing your mind into orbit requires balance.
A cannabis company based in Bloomfield has initiated a voluntary recall of its edible products due to excessively high levels of THC. In an unexpected turn of events, Bloomfield Development Group Groe LLC, the manufacturer responsible for the creation of “The Weed Bar” edibles, has found itself in a situation. Following a review carried out by Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA), a startling revelation came to light. Apparently, their edibles contained shockingly high levels of THC. This has forced the company to take immediate action by issuing a recall on its products.
Leading up to the edibles recall
The first issue concerns the manufacturer’s failure to list marijuana as an ingredient on the product packaging. Despite the product’s name emphasizing its cannabis-infused nature, this glaring omission has raised eyebrows within the CRA. According to Michigan regulations, edible product packaging must explicitly state that it contains marijuana.
Adding fuel to the fire, the second factor contributing to the product recall is the 200 mg of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) found in each serving. THC, the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis, is key to its intoxicating effects. However, the maximum allowed dosage per serving for edibles in Michigan is 10 mg of THC. While it is permissible for an entire product to contain up to 200 mg of THC, it must clearly indicate that it comprises 20 servings or doses.
If you happen to have purchased the recalled “The Weed Bar” edibles, it is strongly advised by the Cannabis Regulatory Agency to return them to the place of purchase. It’s also worth mentioning that consumers are encouraged to report any adverse reactions or experiences related to marijuana products to the CRA. They’re also encouraged to share their concerns by reaching out to the CRA via email at [email protected] or by phone at (517) 284-8599.
