Detroit 11th Best for Music Lovers
Well, according to a new study done by CPIC.com, Detroit is sitting at number 11 in the list of best cities for music lovers. I’ll be honest, I thought we would be higher than that with this being Motown and everything. They’re basing it on number of venues, festivals, live concerts, record stores. They say Detroit has 42 music venues, four music festivals, over a thousand artists and bands originate from Detroit, including Eminem and Aretha Franklin (we’ll mention Anita Baker too so she don’t get mad at me), and 38 record stores. London, England took the top spot, followed by Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
Nas New Music
I saw this yesterday and I was excited for a lot of people I know that are Nas fans. He shared a throwback, black and white video on his page of an escape artist busting out of a straight jacket. Speculation is that he’s hinting that his next release will be Magic 2, the follow up to his 2021 album, Magic. So, I’m looking forward to that. I know some people are like obsessive Nas fans that will be super excited too. I didn’t realize that Nas has actually dropped a new project every year since 2018. This upcoming release will be his 16th studio album.
Drakes Basketball Guests
Imagine if you’re a collegiate basketball coach and Drake rang you up offering to let you borrow his house while you and your team are in town. That happened to the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team. Drake has been really close with their coach, John Calipari, for many, many years. He gave the team full access to his house while they were in Toronto, including the pool and his full-size basketball court for them to practice on. Coach Calipari took some video after practice saying they were at Drake’s relaxing and comparing it to a resort. That’s pretty wild.
