Gov. Whitmer signed a bill into law that will allow alcohol sales at college games in Michigan. How will it effect the local economies in college towns like Ann Arbor and East Lansing?
Michigan Colleges Allowed to Sell Alcohol at Stadiums
Governor Whitmer has officially signed legislation to allow alcohol to be sold at college sporting events. U of M and MSU are now going to join 11 other Big 10 schools that allow it. I was actually talking about this when my husband and I were in Ann Arbor over the weekend. There are so many businesses in that area that rely on people coming there before the games and drinking, and this is really going to have an impact on those local economies. But they do say that they’re putting this in place because the colleges that currently allow alcohol say that it’s actually reduced the number of alcohol-related incidents. So, we’ll have to see how big of a money driver this is for them. The Governor also signed a “liquor-to-go” law to become permanent for restaurants. That policy was originally put in place during the pandemic and allows restaurants to sell alcohol to-go for carryout orders.
Latest on The Search Warrant Executed in The Tupac Murder Case
I told you yesterday a search warrant was executed in the Tupac murder case. Well, we’ve learned the house that was searched belongs to Paula Clemons, who is married to Keefe D, who says he was in the car with his late nephew, Orlando Anderson the night of the shooting. Orlando’s the one who got into that altercation with Tupac at a casino earlier that night. Keefe D has said in previous interviews that the nshooting was retaliation for that fight. So, a search was conducted at that home yesterday. He and his wife were removed from the house and ABC reports that they seized hard drives and photos of possible subjects in this murder. Something else I read in this article that I did not know, is that they actually found the murder weapon back in 1998. I had no clue. Apparently it was found in a backyard in Compton. I think that information just came out recently after court records were subpoenaed and stuff. So, we’ll keep following this story and see what comes of it. You can check out video of police arriving to execute the search warrant at his link… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Noe39o1ux5Y&pp=ygUUdHVwYWMgc2VhcmNoIHdhcnJhbnQ%3D
Snoop Dogg & E-40 are collaborating on a Cookbook. “Goon With The Spoon” will feature recipes from both iconic rappers and will hit stores November 14th.
Snoop & E-40’s New Collaboration is… A Cookbook
Snoop Dogg and E-40 have partnered to drop their first collaborative cookbook. It’s called “Goon With The Spoon” and will feature 65 “decadent” recipes. The cookbook borrows elements from Snoop and E-40’s music, so that will be interesting. I mean, if they’re basing it off of their lyrics, then you know there may be some “things” in those things. You know what I’m saying? Some extra greens, perhaps? Anyway, I’m definitely adding this cookbook to my birthday list. It will be released on November 14th.
