Drake Cancels Tour Stop Due To ‘Logistically Impossible’ Demands
Drake has canceled one of his tour stops due to “logistically impossible” demands. According to a statement from the FedEx Forum (via Commercial Appeal), Drake’s August 6 tour date in Memphis has been canceled. It was also confirmed by Ticketmaster.
“Due to the magnitude of the production of the Drake concert, it is logistically impossible to bring the show as designed to the FedEx Forum on August 6th. Unfortunately, the show is cancelled,” the statement read.

Fans will be receiving a refund for the sold-out show. Ticketholders will “receive one to their original payment method within 30 days.”
This is not the first time Drake’s Memphis tour stop has been canceled. According to the outlet, the first time the tour was canceled was for a June 29 show and then rescheduled for the August 6 date which has since been ultimately canceled as well.

The cancellation of the Memphis tour stop is extra tragic since Drake has special ties to the city. Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, is from Shelby County, and the rapper has cited the city as a second home. The 6God often references Memphis in his music.
“901 Shelby Drive, look alive, look alive (‘Live),” Drake and BlocBoy JB rap on “Look Alive.” “901” is a popular area code in Memphis, and Shelby Drive is also a well-known street in the city.
During a ceremony on Monday (June 26), Shelby County Chairman Mickell M. Lowery thanked Drake for “putting Memphis all in your music on the map.”

“We always say Memphis music touches the world, and like I told you, you got a lot of Memphis blood in you, and you’re definitely touching the world,” the chairman said in a video shared to social media.
“Not everybody has a key to the Shelby County. We only give that to our own that we love dear.”
Drake has not spoken out about the cancelation of the Memphis tour stop as of yet.
