Dancers Speak Out Against Lizzo
I told you about this yesterday. Very, very disappointing story to hear. Former Lizzo dancers are suing her for allegedly creating a toxic work environment, pressuring them and weight shaming them along with sexual harassment claims. Two of those dancers sat down yesterday for an interview. Dancer Arianna Davis said, “It was this unspoken thing in the camp that if you weren’t super fun, like if you did, if you like skipped out on all of the like outings and you know, all that stuff, that you wouldn’t be seen in good favor from Lizzo. And that you would then not be considered like one of the people that is like cool and down for anything and then therefore not be booked for, for as many jobs.” You know, it’s one of those situations and I cannot fault them. A lot of people feel that pressure in their work environments, right? And especially in the entertainment industry where you can be blacklisted. Also yesterday, filmmaker Sophia Nahli Allison claimed she was previously hired to create Lizzo’s documentary and she only lasted two weeks before walking out. She said she was treated with such disrespect by Lizzo that she witnessed how arrogant, self-centered and unkind she is. Allison said, “Lizzo creates an extremely toxic and hostile working environment and undermines the work labor and authority of other black and brown women in the process. She is a narcissistic bully and has built her brand off of lies. I was excited to support and protect a black woman through the documentary process, but quickly learned that her image and message was a curated façade.” If this is true, and everything is alleged right now, this is very disappointing. Lizzo has not made a comment yet on it, so we’ll have to wait to hear from her as well. Check out the TMZ interview with Lizzo’s former dancers at this link… https://youtu.be/1-hfTyT8otw
Lizzo Responds To Allegations
This morning, Lizzo actually did respond on her Twitter and Instagram. She said, “I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I chose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed. These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional. As an artist I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans. With passion comes hard work and high standards. Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not. There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight. I’m hurt but I will not let the good work I’ve done in the world be overshadowed by this. I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support to lift me up during this difficult time.” Here’s a link to her Tweet… — FOLLOW @YITTY (@lizzo) — FOLLOW @YITTY (@lizzo) August 3, 2023?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 3, 2023?s=20">

Cardi B Mic Up For Auction
We’ve been talking all week about Cardi B’s microphone throwing incident in Vegas, well that mic is up on eBay. The current bid is over $99,000 by the owner of the production company that owned the mic. Now he says that this type of microphone normally like costs around $1000 (they’re actually closer to $500) but he says that the money from the sale is going to go to the Wounded Warrior Project and local nonprofit Friendship Circle in Las Vegas, which helps kids, teens, and young adults with special needs. So, at least it’s going to go to something good.
