Doja Cat Shares Bloody Video For New Song ‘Paint The Town Red’
Doja Cat’s second solo single, “Paint The Town Red,” was released on Friday (Aug. 4). “Paint The Town Red” follows her first solo single of the year, “Attention,” which was released in June.
In “Paint The Town Red,” the visual begins in black-and-white with Doja Cat appearing drenched in blood, similar to her look from “Attention.” In the following sequence, she is seen riding on top of a green beast-like creature before appearing in a graveyard with a skeleton.
Dionne Warwick is heard in the intro repeating the line, “Walk on by.”
“Yeah, bitch, I said what I said/I’d rather be famous instead/I let all that get to my head
I don’t care, I paint the town red,” Doja sings in the chorus. The lyrics followed Dojo’s latest headline-making move when she called out her fanbase.
“If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f—— ‘kittenz,’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house,” she wrote in a since-deleted Doja Cat criticizes her fans for adopting the term 'Kittenz' as their fandom name:

One fan asked for the singer to tell her fanbase that she loves them which Doja Cat responded, “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.”

Her comments apparently struck a nerve, and nearly 250,000 followers from the artist left overnight, per Billboard.

However, it seems like, after a short social media hiatus, Doja is back. The singer promoted her latest single on Instagram as she shared snippets leading up to Friday’s release.
