It’s another event-filled summer weekend in Metro Detroit. There are plenty of things going on besides WWE Summerslam that you can check out.
Things to Do This Weekend in Metro Detroit That Aren’t WWE Summerslam
As we’ve been talking about all week, WWE Summerslam is happening downtown on Saturday and the Tigers are playing at home all weekend. But I’m going to give you some events that are going on in different parts of Metro Detroit in case you’re looking for something else to do. The Wayne County Fair and the Monroe County Fair have been going on for the past week. The last days to get there are today and tomorrow. The Wayne County Fairgrounds is in Belleville and the Monroe County Fairgrounds is at the First Merchants Expo Center. Both of them have animal shows, carnival rides, food vendors, music artists, and more. So, if you’re able to attend one of those, go and check it out. There’s also a Buy Michigan Now festival in Northville where you can go to support local businesses, enjoy food and buy products that are made right here in Michigan. Then there’s Jazz on the River, tomorrow and Sunday at Elizabeth Park in Trenton. They’ll feature nationally recognized jazz musicians, including Stanley Clark, who is a five time Grammy award winner. The event is free, but there is a $5 cash parking fee. So, those are some things you can check out this weekend if you’re not going to see “man stories” at Ford Field with WWE!
Mark Zuckerberg is doing some serious training for his fight with Elon Musk. So much so that he needs to eat 4000 calories a day of McDonald’s to prevent weight loss.

Speaking of matches, one of the biggest is about to go down. And I’m only talking about this because one of these billionaires is going to lose and I really don’t care which one it is. Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk. Zuckerberg took up martial arts during the pandemic and he’s been training with like some serious UFC fighters and trainers and apparently he needs to eat an additional 4000 calories per day to not lose weight from all of his training. And guess how he’s doing it? By pounding down a bunch of McDonald’s. He says his order usually consists of 20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some side cheeseburgers. Like, this is all in one sitting. Where do you put all that? I can’t wait to see this fight. I don’t think an official date or anything has been announced, but I’m looking forward to it.
After an investigation by Las Vegas police, Cardi B has been cleared of battery in the microphone-throwing incident from last weekend. We’ll have to see if a civil suit could follow.
Cardi B Out of Trouble in Mic-Throwing Incident
Hopefully this is the last time I have to talk about this. I am ready to move on from this story. Cardi B has cleared from facing any battery charges in her pending microphone-bopping case in Vegas. You know the story by now. Some girl threw a drink on Cardi while she was on stage and she got upset and threw the microphone into the audience. The microphone actually ended up hitting the woman that was standing next to the lady who threw the drink. So, after a Las Vegas police investigated and everything, they decided not to bring charges against Cardi. It’ll be interesting to see if this person files a civil suit now to try and get a settlement. Then I guess we’ll have to talk about this again. Oh, by the way, I talked about how the microphone from that incident is up on eBay now. As of this morning there are 124 bids and the highest bid is up to nearly $100,000. That’s so crazy.
