Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Drop New Song ‘Bongos’
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have another hit on their hands with their latest collaboration, “Bongos.” The rhyming duo created a vibrant, twerk-filled music video. Both artists take turns rapping about their favorite luxuries in life, praising their bodies, and adding some explicit sexual rhymes on this high-energy beat.
This is the second time Cardi and Megan have worked together as a duo. Their 2020 “WAP” was a cultural reset as many encouraged their sexual liberation in their lyrics, while others shunned it and deemed it wildly inappropriate (as if male rappers don’t discuss the same topics all the time.) The song debuted at No. 1 and became Cardi’s fourth leader and Meg’s second.
This song is also the first Megan has dropped this year and it is Cardi’s first as a lead artist.

Cardi is also gearing up to drop her sophomore album sometime this year. Her debut project Invasion of Privacy won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammys. She became the first female rapper to win the award as a solo artist. The success of Invasion of Privacy has aided in her anxiety about releasing her sophomore project.
“When it comes to music and everything, I just be feeling like I don’t be liking anything,” she said back in December on Instagram Live. “I feel like I got so many songs and I don’t like anything. I feel like nothing is good enough… And I got so much money saved up I just be like, ‘Yeah, whatever the f—.'”
She and her husband Offset have two children (Wave and Kulture), and they played a role in her not wanting to drop a new album.
“I’m just a mom and I do have anxiety,” she said. “I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids.”
In her latest interview with Vogue México y Latinoamérica she said that she’s ready to continue making music.
“I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single,” she shared. “Right now, I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up.”
Although Cardi has not released a full-length project in five years, the rapper has collaborated with other artists. This year, she jumped on Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor Again” and FendiDa Rappa’s “Point Me 2.”
