Dan Campbell Said Some Unbelievable Things Following Detroit Lions Win Over Kansas City
They came, they fought and they conquered. The Detroit Lions win over Kansas City was stunning, and it was a great way to start the season during the opening NFL game of the season on Thursday (Sept. 7). The game was a road with for the Lions, too, making it that much sweeter.
Detroit Lions Win Over Kansas City
I was on the edge of my seat the entire game. I’m sure you were, too. In my heart, I felt that the Lions could pull off an upset and win this game. After all, we have one of the strongest teams in decades right now. I honestly didn’t think I’d see this kind of success from the Detroit Lions in my lifetime. But, most critics and commentators thought it would be an easy win for Kansas City. It wasn’t. In the end, thanks to a mix of tight playing and trick plays, the Detroit Lions beat the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20.
Head coach Dan Campbell couldn’t hide how pumped he was following the win. Either could Jared Goff, Aiden Hutchinson and the rest of the Lions. Campbell said some awesome things to the press after the big win. Mostly, he confirmed that he always believed in this team.
“I didn’t learn anything, I got verification on what I already knew, and this is a resilient team,” Campbell said in a press conference. “It already was a resilient team and we added pieces to that resilient team, so we’re built to handle some stuff and we did that against a very good opponent. He added, “We expected to win this game. We came in here and we knew what we needed to do, and we knew it wasn’t going to be easy and we did that. Really what it means is that’s one (win). That’s one. So, we’ve got to clean up our issues. It hurt us on some stuff and be ready for Seattle in 10 days. That’s what it is.”
