Lions Open Season With 21-20 Win Over Super Bowl Champs

Well, congratulations are in order! The Detroit Lions won their game against Super Bowl Champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, last night 21 to 20. Coach Dan Campbell said, "We came in here. We knew what needed, you know, we needed to do, knew it wasn't going to be easy, but we did that. We won." I mean, it's the first game of the season but everyone around town is so into the Lions. They play their home opener at Ford Field on Sunday, September 17th against Seattle. So, I know that's going to be a huge day for tailgating downtown. Tory Lanez reportedly could've had less prison time than the 10-years he's serving. Apparently he turned down a plea deal that would've only had him spending 4-years behind bars.

Tory Lanez Could Have Done Less Time Behind Bars

As you know, last month, Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10-years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion and violating some gun charges. Well, it turns out he was offered a deal for four years and he said 'Nope'. Now he'll have to all 10 and will probably be deported when he gets out.

"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Debut Episode

Staff have accused Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon of making their lives miserable. A new article says he's created a toxic work environment that has affected many employees.

Jimmy Fallon Accused of Tormenting Staff

Jimmy Fallon is being accused of creating a toxic work environment on The Tonight Show according to a new Rolling Stone article. Staffers allege that he regularly snaps and belittles crew members over small things and that his feedback on their work was needlessly harsh. It's like, if he's in a bad mood, everyone's day is screwed. They say Fallon created such a toxic, stressful, fear-filled work environment that staff had to go in dressing rooms and cry. Some had to seek out antianxiety meds, seek out therapy, and three employees have struggled with suicidal thoughts. They also accused him of being completely drunk at work and smelling of alcohol on several occasions, accusations that he has denied that in the past. I'm going to be very honest. I was surprised when I heard that this morning. But you just never know. Here's a link to the Rolling Stone piece that lays out the allegations against Fallon... https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/jimmy-fallon-tonight-show-toxic-work-environment-crying-rooms-nbc-1234819421/

Dan Campbell quotes

Dan Campbell wanted a "pet lion" at practice. OMgosh.

Appearing on the "Pardon My Take" Podcast, Campbell said he asked for a pet lion at practice.

"I'll tell you what I would really love to do, just in general," he said. "I've talked to (Lions owner) Sheila (Ford Hamp) about this. I don't think we're going to be able to do it, but I would love to literally just have a pet lion. Just a legit pet lion on a chain — a big-a** chain. And he just, he really is my pet. We just walk around the building, we go out to practice, we're in 7-on-7, we're behind the kicker when he's kicking. We're just … there we are."

I'm all for a good analogy. But this one is a bit much for me. But, hey, I'm not a football player. Talk the talk, and walk the walk, right? Here's Dan Campbell's toilet paper pep talk. The quote is from July 2, 2021, talking about practice in a press conference via Michael Silver.

"I told them, honestly, Day 1, I said, 'Look, I'm not carrying your toilet paper around. I'm not gonna wipe your butt. You're gonna wipe your own butt. You handle it and I'll treat you like men until you prove otherwise."
