SZA Reveals New Details About ‘SOS Deluxe’
New SZA music is on the way. During her performance in Brooklyn over the weekend, the New Jersey native gave some details about the deluxe version of her 2022 album SOS.
“So the deluxe is like a whole ‘nother album, and it’s called Lana. It’s seven to 10 songs, and it’ll be out this fall,” SZA is heard saying in a fan-captured video at the show.
However, SZA reportedly walked back on those statements during the event admitting that “we don’t actually have a plan.”
“We’re just playing some songs off the deluxe, and we’re just gonna play a couple of songs you already know,” the “Snooze” singer said. “It was really just — I just wanted to do something for free that was a vibe ’cause I was here in town. Literally, there’s no other point to this whatsoever.”
SZA first teased the deluxe back in February when she spoke to Billboard when she was featured as their “Woman of the Year.”
After announcing that the deluxe will have ten additional songs, the SOS creator slammed rumors of a potential playlist being “leaked.”
“This is fake,” she wrote on her Instagram Story Thursday (May 4).
“And that other leak is from Ctrl 6 years ago,” she continued speaking of her debut album.

However, what seemingly rings true is that after the SOS deluxe is released, she will begin to reflect on the places her hard work has taken her.
“After I do the deluxe, I’m hoping to be able to accept that this chapter is done,” SZA said. “I’m looking forward to actually feeling proud of myself and not just smiling and nodding at accolades but really feeling it internally and knowing that I’m good enough.”
She added: “I guess I need to stop trying to figure out what it means and start realizing and living in what it is.”
SZA’s SOS spent ten nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The last R&B album to pull a similar feat was Mariah Carey’s debut in 1991, which stayed atop the charts for 11 weeks straight.
