Riverfront Uniroyal Promenade Connects Downtown to Belle Isle
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is celebrating the completion of the 3.5 mile East Riverfront with the opening of Uniroyal Promenade. It’s now going to stretch from the MacArthur Bridgeway all the way to Belle Isle, so everything will be connected. That’s super awesome. The grand opening for that is set for October 21st, from 10:00 AM til 2:00 PM. There’s going to be a stroll on the new promenade and a community celebration set up for 10:30 AM. Love to see it. Hopefully that helps us win the USA Today Best Riverfront again next year! Read more here… https://detroitriverfront.org/uniroyalopening
Krayzie Bone gave a health update on his social media. The Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rapper was hospitalized last week.Krayzie Bone Thanks Fans For Get Well Wishes
We told you last week that Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony had to admit himself into a Los Angeles hospital. He was coughing up blood and they found that he had a leaking lung artery. They tried one surgery that wasn’t successful and apparently the second surgery was because he posted a pic from the hospital yesterday with the following caption, “Just fought for life literally for nine days and I only won the battle this time because I know Jehovah God with every step of the way fighting for me. Never take life for granted. Enjoy it while you have it. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. Trust me, I needed every last one of them.” So, it’s nice to see that he’s recovering. I know that a lot of people were in his corner. Here’s his post… https://x.com/DaCultureVault/status/1709371804471734703?s=20
LL Cool J has done it all. He’s just released a book chronicling 50 years of hip-hop.LL Cool J Releases New Book
I had no idea this was dropping yesterday. LL Cool J released a book entitled, “The Streets Win: 50 Years of Hip-Hop Greatness”. It’s commemorating the birth, rise and progression of hip-hop’s culture and its indisputable impact on American music over the past 50 years. There’s a whole bunch of people in the book and Dr. Dre was in there talking about at one point he started to second guess his ability and whether he was doing what he was supposed to be doing. He was actually considering quitting music, but he pushed those doubts aside and persevered. Other people in the book include Eminem, Nas, Snoop Dogg, DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, and so many more. I think I’m gonna have to go get it. So it can sit on my shelf with all the other books that I don’t read. Take a look inside the book here… https://rockthebells.com/articles/ll-cool-j-the-streets-win-50-years-of-hip-hop/
