Casino workers in Detroit walked off the job yesterday. The Casinos in the city will remain open while the strike is going on.
Detroit Casino Workers Strike
3700 Detroit casino workers are officially on strike. Dealers, cleaning staff, food and beverage workers, valets, engineers, a whole bunch of people, because a deal was not reached yesterday afternoon. Workers have concerns over health care and wage increases and also working conditions, because the casinos now have 1500 less employees than before the pandemic. That’s almost half of the current workforce. I worked for a casino here in town and the workers are spread thin and there was a threat of the staff going on strike and how we had to prepare. I personally come from a family that worked in the auto industry. We would not have had the things that we had had it not been for the union. This is my only personal experience, but when I worked there it was an environment where there was union staff and I was not union staff, but we definitely benefited off of the fact that there was union staff. I encourage you to speak to somebody that actually works in the casino industry if you are feeling on the fence about unions and the strike.

Some excerpts of the book have been released, and one of the biggest stories out there was that she was pregnant with Justin Timberlake’s baby. She said, “It was a surprise, but for me it wasn’t a tragedy. I love Justin so much. I had always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I had anticipated. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives that we were way too young.” And so she did terminate the pregnancy. She also revealed why she shaved her head back in 2007. Britney said, “I have been eyeballed so much growing up, I have been looked up and down and have people tell me what they thought of my body since I was a teenager.
