Cool Stuff To Do in Detroit This Weekend
If you’re looking for a few things to do around the city this weekend, I got you.
The 14th annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival is happening Saturday at Eastern Market. It’s one of the largest All-Michigan beer tastings. So, everything’s from Michigan. There will also be plenty of local food and live music. That’s going down from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
There’s an event celebrating Día de Los Muertos, the Day of The Dead holiday, which honors and remembers all who you have lost in Mexican heritage. It’s a free, family friendly event featuring food, live music, dancing, vendors, children’s activities and more. You can participate by leaving a name or a message for a loved one. It’s on the Detroit Riverfront at Robert Blake Park and it’s happening Saturday from 11:00 AM til 3:00 PM.
And then when you’re done with that, you can head over to the Detroit Institute of Arts to see their Day of The Dead exhibit, which is displayed annually. I’ve checked this exhibit out and thought it was very cool.
Chris Brown Sued For Nightclub Assault in London
Chris Brown has found himself in legal hot water again. He’s facing a new lawsuit stemming from a nightclub altercation in London by a guy who, I guess, is a music producer and supposedly is an alleged friend of his for nearly a decade. The incident took place in February and the victim says that Brown struck him over the head a few times with a bottle of a Don Julio Tequila, knocking him unconscious. And then when he fell down, he continued to kick him as he laid on the club floor. He suffered cuts on his head and permanent injuries including torn ligaments in his leg as well as serious emotional distress and trauma. It seems Chris is trying to say someone else in his entourage did it, that it wasn’t him. But I guess there is like security video of the incident, so we’ll have to see what happens with that. But unless that video evidence clearly says that it wasn’t him, I’m sure he’s going to end up settling out of court.
Man Who Allegedly Murdered TakeOff Appears in Court
Speaking of court cases, Patrick Clark, he’s TakeOff’s alleged killer, was in court yesterday. His lawyers are stating that he was in just as much risk as TakeOff when other people started shooting. They claim that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that he’s innocent. They say he has a valid self-defense claim and that the prosecution has no confirmation that the actual bullet that killed TakeOff was from him. That trial is expected to begin early next year.
