Downtown Detroit Markets Extends 2024 Season and Hours
The annual Downtown Detroit Markets kicked off back in November, and it’s going to be around a little bit longer. While they typically would start closing up for the season, they announced an extension of its 2024 season. Their hours of operation are also being extended.
Now, the 2024 season is running through January 21. The market’s new extended hours of operation are Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Originally, it was scheduled to close on January 7.
Supported by the Gilbert Family Foundation and overseen with assistance from Bedrock and TechTown, DDM assists in supporting and promoting local businesses, including restaurants, shops, and more.
Decked Out Detroit
According to Decked Out Detroit, the annual Downtown Detroit Markets at Cadillac Square has more than a dozen local vendors and a wide variety of family-friendly activities. Visitors can find one-of-a-kind gifts from a collection of Detroit vendors offering specialty apparel, accessories, jewelry, bath products, books, and toys, among other items.
Ariya’s Apparel and Accessories, ASTOURI, Bags to Butterflies, FOLK, Halie & Co., Janna Kay Charcuterie Boards and Boxes, Opal Grove Games, Rosemarine Textiles, Speedcult, The Brave Wimp, Two Stix 5 Stones, Verbatim, and Waffle Cabin are among the vendors.
The owners are seizing the potential of pop-up retail opportunities, like those found at the Downtown Detroit Markets, to expand their businesses. For some, the goal is to eventually establish permanent retail spaces.
Additionally, at Cadillac Square is the Cadillac Lodge. They will continue offering food and drinks such as walking tacos, Detroit-style chili, warm soft pretzels, cocktails, non-alcoholic ciders, hot cocoa, and soda.
Five years ago, Decked Out Detroit started with the aim of delivering a “memorable experience” to the downtown area of the city.

Enjoy Michigan's Winter Wonderland With These Unique Activities
No matter the time of year, Michigan has loads of cool stuff to do. But there’s something special about when the state turns into a winter wonderland. Just because it gets cold and snowy during winter doesn’t mean you have to hibernate at home. There are plenty of winter activities to enjoy all season long, even after the holiday rush.
Cities all across Michigan have outdoor fun, like skiing, ice skating, and even dining in igloos. Michiganders know how to prep for winter too. Many of us fire up fireplaces, stock up on hot cocoa, and dig out our snow gear in preparation for those winter months.
Winter Blues
The first day of winter marks the beginning of a season filled with holiday celebrations, quality time with friends and family, and cozy comforts. However, the extended cold days and nights can sometimes lead to cabin fever.
As the days get shorter, some folks start feeling a bit down. You might get the winter blues around the holidays or feel a bit of a slump after all the fun and festivities. The National Institutes of Health says that finding fun and engaging activities can help beat those winter blues.

To prevent feelings of boredom and isolation during the winter months, many people find it essential to stay active.
