Latto Seemingly Shades Nicki Minaj In New Song Preview
Latto’s upcoming single is “Back Outside” with fellow Atlanta rapper Anyica. The Grammy-nominated emcee shared some of the behind-the-scenes of the music video, where she seemingly came for Nicki Minaj.
“I’m turnt / Got auntie mad, she burnt,” Latto raps in the music video as she and Anyica are sitting down on some steps surrounded by their friends.

Fans also thought that Nicki dissed Latto on her new album Pink Friday 2.
“Picture you endin’ up under the seat, where the dread at?/ Picture not listenin’ when I said you would dread that/ I mean locs, ho, you-you’s a chop ho/ I’m number one, y’all go argue over top four/ Clean, sweep, you gettin’ mopped, ho,” Nicki raps on “Fallin 4 U.”
Nicki uses the phrase “locs, ho” which sounds like “Latto” to get her point across about how she feels about the Atlanta rapper.
However, Nicki clarified that she was not aiming for Latto with that line and was simply referring to Halle Bailey’s live-action depiction of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
“The dreadlock under the sea’ was … The Little Mermaid, right? So relax,” Minaj said in a livestream per Us Weekly.
How Did Latto & Nicki Minaj’s Beef Start?
Nicki Minaj and Latto’s Twitter beef exploded on the timeline back in 2022 after the Queens rapper accused the “Big Energy” rapper of not defending her after “Super Freaky Girl” was ineligible for the rap category at the Grammys. “If SFG (Super Freaky Girl) has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy! ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll,” Nicki tweeted at the time.
Latto had asked Nicki not to bring her name up. That’s when the Queens rapper clapped back, “This Karen has probably mentioned my name in over 100 interviews. But today, scratch off decides to be silent; rather than speak up for the black woman she called her biggest inspiration.”
“Karen” is a term that was coined for white women who are seen acting entitled, and/or often racist. Latto, who is biracial, would not fit the bill. That’s why many Twitter users were confused when Nicki called the Atlanta native a “Karen” in their Twitter feud.
