Detroit Lions Lose in Heartbreaking 49ers Game, 34-31 – What Went Wrong?
I can hardly even write this post. What an emotional loss. But, I’m so proud of the Detroit Lions. And, I’m just going to say it. I truly believe the Lions were the stronger team. They didn’t have to lose this game. I don’t want to question decision-making, but in my opinion, in a game that means this much, you don’t want to gamble. If the Lions had taken field goals instead of going for it on two specific 4th down attempts, we would have won this game. It’s that simple. Don’t gamble in a game like this. So, it was a heartbreaking 49ers game, but let’s not let it erase such a great season.
The Detroit Lions fell to the San Francisco 49ers. Final score: 34-31. Going into the first half, the Lions were winning 24-7. It seemed like nothing could bring them down. But, everything changed in the third quarter. I believe the momentum shifted in the third quarter, when a decision was made to go for it on a 4th down when the team could have gone for a field goal. The Lions didn’t make it, and the 49ers scored on the next drive. Yes, a heartbreaking 49ers game.
Earlier in the day, the Kansas City Chiefs pulled off an upset against the Baltimore Ravens, 17-10. The Ravens were favored to win, so it was a surprise, and I was personally surprised to see Lamar Jackson and company fall to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. So, now we know who will play in the Big Game, and it will be difficult to watch, at least if you’re a Lions fan. I’m still looking forward to watching, but this loss will sting for a long, long time. Go Lions, for life. Oh, and it’s not the “Same Ol’ Lions,” so don’t even think that. We will roar again, so stay tuned. Give me your thoughts here.
