Northville Downs held their final race on Saturday night. After 80-years the last horse racing track in the state has closed.
Michigan’s Last Horse Racing Track Closes
Well, it’s official. The last horse racing track in Michigan closed after an 80-year run. They did final bets on Saturday at Northville Downs which opened back in 1944. Hundreds of people came out for the final night to pay tribute and everything. I actually saw some people on Facebook that I know that went. The track was sold in 2018 to a housing developer, but the owner said that they’re actively searching for a new home.
He also said he wished all these people would have shown up before they had to close the doors and that they don’t usually have this many people. If they would’ve just come before they probably wouldn’t have to sold it off. I’m sure online betting hasn’t helped either. We’ll have to see where it ends up because that is something unique in Michigan that that’s just no longer here.
Killer Mike had an unexpected night at the Grammy’s. He swept the three categories he was nominated for and was then arrested.

The Grammys were last night and drama ensued. First of all, they posted that Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice won for “Barbie World” as best rap song. But it turns out the award actually went to Killer Mike. I’m sure that went over well with Nicki’s fans. I guarantee they all went after Killer Mike for no reason.
Killer Mike went on to win three awards. In his speech he said, “You can’t tell me it’s too late, you can’t tell me dreams don’t come true. It’s a sweep!”
Now, after winning those three awards, Killer Mike was led out in handcuffs by the cops for misdemeanor battery following an alleged scuffle backstage. But I also saw that a source said it had nothing to do with what happened at the Grammys, so we’ll have to see what actually happened.

Jay Z won the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and he’s had some beef with the Grammys for a long time now. He spent part of his acceptance speech defending his wife. Jay said, “Try to get it right, at least get it close to right. I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that.” He followed that up by saying, “When I get nervous, I tell the truth.”

Suffering from health issues, Celine Dion made a rare appearance too present Album of The Year. The winner, Taylor Swift was called out for ignoring Celine.

Finally, Celine Dion made a very rare public appearance at the Grammys. She’s suffering from Stiff-Person Syndrome which is an autoimmune neurological disorder that cause muscle stiffness and spasms. Celine told the audience, “I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart. Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”
She’s such an icon. And there have been conflicting reports on the status of her health and everything, so it was great to see her there on stage.
Celine was there to award album of the year to Taylor Swift and people are upset because Taylor seemed to have snubbed Celine. When she handed Taylor the award, no hug, no acknowledgement, no nothing.
People defended Taylor online saying, ‘Oh, she was distracted by’ blah, blah, blah, whatever. And other people were like, ‘Come on. It’s Celine Dion’. One person said that they wasted a Celine Dion moment on Taylor Swift. People are in uproar online for sure.
