Michigan is Getting One Last Snowfall – Here’s When
It hasn’t felt like winter for much of this winter in Michigan. But, the state is getting one last snowfall before spring official starts on March 19. Sure, if you’re not a fan of snow, you’re probably not happy to hear about this final winter weather event. I’m speaking from experience. But, this winter could have been a lot worse, so let’s not complain.
The rest of this weekend through Sunday night (March 10) will bring some wintry weather, or at least weather that feels wintry compared to what it’s been. Snow in March in Michigan doesn’t usually make for a crazy idea, but it does this year. So, when and where should you expect this snowfall? Let’s get into the Michigan weather forecast to see what’s ahead.
Light snow showers will work its way through Lower Michigan on Saturday (March 9) and through Sunday evening. These will be fairly widespread. So, you’re likely to get some snow, no matter where you are in the lower part of the state. For totals, according to Weather.com, we’re looking at a possible two to four inches of snow in northern Michigan and about one inch of snow across lower Michigan.
The good news is that this time of year, the snow usually doesn’t linger. It’s not like in December or January, when a large snowfall can last a long time, since the temperatures are so cold. Now, sometimes, overnight snowfall even melts during the day, if the temperatures even get just a bit above freezing. That said, there is snow in Michigan’s future. It just probably won’t stick around, since Monday (March 11) looks to be in the 50s for much of lower Michigan, and Tuesday will even head into the 60s. I’m so ready for spring, that it’s not even funny, so those 60-degree temperatures look good. Bring it on.
